VF has enormous need of first aiders who are willing to share their skills and get involved.
While it regularly sends qualified and skilled clinicians to Africa, they go with the sole focus of performing surgery, providing maternal care, medication, and medical intervention to those in greatest need.
One thing these clinicians regularly struggle to find time for, however, is teaching first aid. When they go back to their respective homes, those in the villages supported by VF still need to be able to take care of their own first aid needs while working and going about their daily lives.
Within Malawi, emergency healthcare is often found lacking, making a good working knowledge of first aid an absolute necessity that many people lack. If you’re willing to be involved and could help to fill this massive shortfall by using your expertise in stabilising and aiding people or teaching them to help themselves, you are exactly the person that VF needs.
Also, there is often a need for a first aider to be present at fundraising events in the UK, so you don’t have to fly to Africa to be able to help VF’s mission.
