Ben currently works as a registered NHS paramedic and solo first responder, specialising in frontline 999 emergency response, event medical cover, medical repatriation and patient transport as well as training and teaching volunteer medics to help serve in their local communities.
Prior to his career change into medical work, Ben worked for nearly 20 years in IT as a systems administrator, security specialist, cloud platform engineer and software developer, working for retail companies, healthcare organisation, education and for multiple charities.
After travelling to Malawi to work in our Mwanyama Clinic project during the completion of a Paramedic Science degree at university in 2024, Ben came back from Malawi with a passion for the work Village Foundations does and has hit the ground running, trying to make a big impact on the work we do.
Within Village Foundations, Ben’s responsibilities include management of our website, fundraising, awareness campaigns, operational support and working on our volunteering programme as well as recently becoming a trustee of the charity.
